Croftlands Trust was a registered charity which was set up in 1986 to provide support for people with mental health problems in Cumbria.

It had a strong track record in providing residential services, supported housing, floating support and community-based support. In June 2016 it became a fully integrated part of national mental health charity and Recovery Focus partner, Richmond Fellowship. We remain committed to continuing Croftlands’ work supporting people in Cumbria.

Its key services include:

Residential services – We run a number of residential care homes that specialise in supporting individuals with complex needs to return from “out of county” placements or who are at risk of being placed in costly NHS specialist services. In Whitehaven we also operate Cumbria’s only crisis house which can take referrals within three hours and can support people for up to a month.

Supportive living schemes – We manage a number of mental health specialist supportive living schemes across North Cumbria which provide a ‘step down’ function for 24hr specialist services. This includes property management, housing related support, social and health related care.

Domiciliary care – We operate outreach teams in North Cumbria which take referrals from local community mental health teams and can provide longer term practical support or more intensive complex needs support. We also offer a unique service within the Millom community to assist and enable people to remain in their own homes with care tailored to their own individual needs.
