Recovery Focus is pleased to welcome Dr. Kapil Bakshi (MBBS MSc FRCPsych) to its Board of Non-Executive Directors.

Kapil trained as a Psychiatrist in London and the East of England and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

He achieved a Masters in Healthcare Leadership from University of Birmingham and was awarded the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson award for Senior Healthcare Leadership by NHS Leadership Academy.

Kapil has over 17 years’ experience of working with people with mental ill health and substance misuse. He’s a practising clinician and works as a Consultant Psychiatrist with a large adult community mental health team.

He is the Deputy Medical Director at Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, where his responsibilities include medical leadership, clinical strategy and revalidation of doctors. He also sits on the Executive Committee of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, Eastern Division.

Our Non-Executive Directors are involved in policymaking, governance and planning across the Recovery Focus Group, ensuring we remain leaders in the charity sector. They work with our Group Leadership Team to create our vision and key strategies to help drive forward and deliver our objectives and improve lives.

Our Directors have a wealth of experience from local and national government, a variety of public and private sector organisations, as well as leading influencers in the fields of mental health and substance use.
